Wales Day 5 - Marloes Sands and Kayaking in Dale

Early the next morning we drove the short distance to the National Trust car park for Marloes Sands. The car park lies at the top of the cliff and it is around a 1/2 mile walk across a field and down to the sea. The beach is one of the best I have been to. It has rocks and caves and an island you can almost get to at low tide. The geology is stupendous. The weather was dry and warmish but the sea was quite rough as it tumbled in over the rocks, and there was a bit of a harst. The tide was coming in and by the time we left there was little beach left
We had brought wetsuits with us and Alan and Mairi went in the sea while I mooched about taking photos, sometimes using my 10 stop filter. I then had a quick dip before we went back to the van.
In the afternoon we went to Dale and the kayak was launched again. We had an early dinner at the pub and went back to the campsite. There was a fabulous sunset so I got in the car and flew back to the carpark over the sands and ran to the top of the cliff overlooking the bay to catch the end of it.
