Storm light

Image
We have been fortunate in having some really stormy weather recently, with fantastic skies, better than I can ever remember. These are a few pictures taken mainly in the evening with that perfect light and approaching storm.

Evening light in Arkesden

Image
In March we had a spate of good sunsets. I was always at home when this happened and the immediate neighbourhood is not that good for sunsets, so I thought I would try some ICM to get a different perspective. Here is the one of the pictures I took.

High summer

Image
Here are some pictures of a corn field and a flax field in Arkesden. The flax flowers fade by noon every day and it took me a little time to puzzle out why the field was sometimes there and sometimes not! The temperature was rising as I was out taking these and I wanted to give some sense of that and also immersion in the fields and flowers. Finally a picture of a single flax flower.

Days of Snow and Frost

Image
Over the last few days we have had frost and snow - just a scattering at first and then yesterday a few inches. Here are a few pictures from Arkesden   These have been converted to monochrome in Silver Effex2 and given a blue tone to match the colour palette at the time they were taken and conserve the feel of the place.
