Scotland autumn 2016, the journey north

We were parked right next to the beach I could not resist these lovely trails of seaweed.

We had thought to travel to Skye and then take the ferry from Idrigal in the north west across to Tarbert on Harris. We had a cup of coffee in Spean Bridge, next to the monument and then travelled further north, passing Loch Cluanie and stopping for a look round a derelict church in Kintail.

The weather had been stormy but with bright intervals and once off the bridge and on Skye it became much more changeable. We stopped for a seafood tea in an oyster shack next to the Talisker distillery, before driving through Glenbrittle to a campsite on the coast at Bualintur where we had planned to stay the night.
